When you think of September what comes to mind? Leaves turning? cooler weather? Football? Let’s add one more thing to that list: Great Atlanta Beer Festival. Most of you know I got to a lot of festivals, events, concerts and beer festivals and I’m proud to say this one is my favorite. Being held at Turner Field while the Braves are away on Saturday, September 7th, you get the baseball feel with all the ball park fun, but with an added value: beer. A lot of it.
One of the reasons I love this festival so much is the onset of fall beers: pumpkin, heavier porters, and stouts. Second, is the location. Turner Field is a nostalgic place for most Atlantans as we’ve gone to years of baseball games and years of good memories there. It gives you the ball game feel with the added value of the beer festival. Finally, there isn’t any way to get bored at this festival: batting cages, 2 Giant Jengas, Georgia in the big screen(Go Dawgs!), food, beer, and don’t forget friends.
Challenge: At the Atlanta Summer Beer Festival my husband John and our friend Scott played the most epic game of Jenga ever with wood stacked over 6 feet high, 45 minutes, and a huge crowd ohhhing and ahhhing. Can you beat that? If so, this is going to be one for the ages.
Great Atlanta Beer Festival is held on Saturday, September 7th at Turner Field from 3pm to 8pm.
