What’s Going On In Atlanta This Weekend, Thursday, August 28th to Monday, September 2nd

DragonCon (Downtown)

Thursday, August 28th-Monday, September 2

Time: 24/7

About: This is a call to arms to all our comic book reading, SCI-FI TV loving, movie watching, video gaming nerd and geek fandom out there to come out to the South’s (nation’s?) best costume party, DragonCon. Wait, we mean, the country’s best Sci-Fi/Fandom Convention. There’s something for everyone: parades, panels, costumes, parties, you name it, they’ve got it. Did you know… Ralph Macchio is going to be there? Come out and hang out with the Karate Kid, your favorite True Blood Character or 50,000 of your closest friends. Tickets range from $150 for the whole weekend to $40-50 for day passes. Check the site for more information.

What not to miss: PARADE IS AT 10 AM SATURDAY, AUGUST 30TH: Peachtree Street around Hard Rock Cafe and vicinity. You’ll need to get there early for best viewing spots.

Chick-Fil-A Kick-off Game and Fan Zone (Ga Dome Downtown)

Thursday, August 28th-Saturday, August 30th

Time: see website for details on each event

About: The official kick-off weekend of college football has arrived and we’re so excited about it that we’re recommending going to this for the atmosphere alone. Also, think about this: there will be a clash of DragonCon and football fans downtown and it’s going to be hilariously interesting. On a side note: Go Dawgs! Ticket prices vary by what you want to do. The atmosphere/tailgate area/etc are free, but fan zone costs $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets for the games vary.
